Native ginger, with red backed leaves from the Atherton Tablelands. Grows naturally in rainforest edges in part sun or part shade. Easy to grow, they make a great filler under trees or in shady corners. Edible roots have an earthy flavour and are best harvested from the fresh growing points. The seeds and pith of the blue fruits have a pleasant sour taste.
